Aristeidis Samitas is Professor of Finance in the College of Business and the Chair for Finance at Zayed University. He studied Economics at the University of Athens (BSc, 1995) and Banking and Finance at the University of Birmingham (MSc, 1996). He holds a Ph.D. (2001) in Finance from the University of Athens and has concluded Postdoctoral Research at City University, London (2009). His papers have been published in numerous top-tier international journals and edited volumes. He was Director of the MBA and the Executive MBA programs at the University of the Aegean and member of the University Council. Professionally, he has been employed as consultant for various Ministries in Greece (Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Labor) and he was CEO at an educational organization.
Aristeidis Samitas has taught both at the undergraduate and the postgraduate level at many institutions in Europe and has also delivered lectures as guest speaker at numerous Universities around the world (USA, Australia, Germany, etc.). He has also taught several professional seminars and executive training sessions for Greek banks and large corporations. Finally, he has delivered training seminars for professionals for the Institute for Community Engagement (ICE) of Zayed University.
His areas of expertise are financial markets, corporate finance, managerial finance, portfolio management, derivatives and financial econometrics.
