Emre Karter is the Head of Citi’s TTS businesses in the Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan and Turkey, and is based out of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. In this role, Emre is responsible for driving Citi’s market-leading TTS business. In addition to his TTS responsibilities, he is also Governance Head for Citi's Non-Presence Countries (NPC) in Central Asia and Transcaucasia. In this capacity, Emre provides Governance oversight to all Citi Businesses and Products in 8 countries, where Citi doesn't have on the-ground presence, but serves its clients' needs from its Global and Regional Hubs.
Emre has 24 years of experience in Banking covering areas including Relationship Management, Credit & Risk, Product, and Business Management. Prior to his current role, he was the TTS Russia, CIS, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Cluster Head, based in Moscow.
Emre’s other previous experience includes; managing the Transaction Service business for Turkey and its NPCs and several Sales & Coverage roles, where he led origination and execution activities Citi's Multinational, Financial Institutions and NPC Client segments, based in Turkey.
Emre is the co-Chair of the Citi Women's Network (CWN) in Dubai, UAE since 2017. CWN facilitates policies and mechanisms, which support the development of women in the organization, and is an integral part of Citi’s overall Diversity and Inclusion agenda. Emre is also the member of EMEA Women's Affinity Regional Steering Committee, representing TTS business.
Emre joined Citi in Turkey in 1996 and held various positions in Corporate Bank as a Banker, followed by a stint in Brussels coordinating the multinational (GSG) franchise across CEEMEA. Emre is also a Senior Business Risk Officer.
Before joining Citi, Emre worked at Coca-Cola in Turkey and Prudential Securities in the United States. Emre holds a B.Sc. in Management from Bilkent University and a M.Sc. in International Business and Finance from New Hampshire College. He is a Board Member for Citibank A.S. in Turkey and Citi Islamic Investment Bank E.C in Bahrain - (CIIB).
